Harrison Ford talks Star Wars, plane crash while dressed as a hot dog

Hollywood superstar Harrison Ford talked about surviving a plane crash and his new movie “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens,” while dressed as a hot dog on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Thursday night.

The “Star Wars”-themed episode saw Kimmel don a Princess Leia costume, while Ford wore a hot dog suit and a fake nose.

“I’m a dog in a hot dog suit,” said the actor, keeping a straight face.

However, despite the comedy outfits, Kimmel’s interview with Ford did have its serious moments, with the 73-year-old talking candidly about his plane crash in March this year.

Ford said he recalls the moment the engines stopped working on his ST-3KR – a 1940s-era U.S. Army plane – and talking to the control tower on the radio, but he admitted to remembering little else after that.

“That’s the last thing I remember until five days afterward,” Ford said, adding he had “retrograde amnesia” due to the amount of general anesthetic he received.

Ford crash-landed on a golf course near the Santa Monica Municipal Airport in California.

While Ford spoke candidly about the crash, he was less forthcoming when asked about the plot of the new, much anticipated “Star Wars” movie.

The star said he was sworn to secrecy and refused to give anything away about the film.

However, he did say there was a “very good reason” why Luke Skywalker doesn’t appear on the movie’s official poster (although the character is in the film).

Ford also sent the audience into fits of giggles as he burped in the middle of an anecdote about wanting his character Han Solo killed off in the original “Star Wars” trilogy.

“Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens” is set for release in the U.S. on 18 December.
