Sentencing set to begin for Keith Dunford in Weyburn

REGINA – A judge in Weyburn will be sentencing Keith Dunford on Friday after he was found guilty of Dangerous Driving Causing Death in the death of an 18-year-old construction worker.

Ashley Dawn Richards was working on a construction site as a flag person near Midale in August of 2012 when she was struck by Dunford’s SUV and thrown nearly 60 meters.

Dunford was found not guilty on the more serious charge of Criminal Negligence Causing Death since the Crown needed to prove Dunford showed wanton and reckless disregard for his actions, which the judge said they failed to do beyond a reasonable doubt.
