Liberal candidate Arnold Chan has been re-elected in the riding of Scarborough-Agincourt.

Chan won with a significant lead ahead of Conservative Bin Chang.

Chan first took the seat in the 2014 by-election, defeating Conservative Trevor Ellis by a margin of 30 per cent. The landslide victory came as no surprise.

This riding has been a long time Liberal stronghold. Chan’s predecessor, former MP Jim Karygiannis, was elected eight times in a row. In fact, every election in Scarborough-Agincourt has gone to the Liberals since the riding was created in 1988.

Scarborough-Agincourt comprises Steeles, L’Amoureaux, Clarks Corners and Tam O’Shanter-Sullivan. The riding has one small boundary change in an area east of Midland Avenue, which now belongs to Scarborough-North.
