CALGARY – Police have taken one person into custody following the discovery of an alleged drug manufacturing lab in the community of New Brighton.
Officers executed a search warrant on a home in the 100 block of New Brighton Circle S.E. at around 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15. Police seized chemicals and a pill press from inside the front attached garage.
The RCMP Clandestine Lab Enforcement and Response (CLEAR) Team was called in to investigate.
“There is no immediate public safety risk to homes in the surrounding area,” said police in a Friday news release.
Investigators said it will take a number of weeks for Health Canada to analyze the chemicals and confirm which substances were being manufactured.
Charges are pending.
