Special jersey sale aims to help Calgary’s Goodwill organization

CALGARY- A Calgary thrift store is selling some hockey paraphernalia this weekend.

To mark the start of the hockey season, the Chinook Goodwill store is putting about 300 Flames items on sale, everything from jerseys to bobbleheads.

“Just tons of memorabilia,” says store manager Nat Brumm. “You name it, we have it.”

Merchandise will be discounted as much as 90 per cent off regular retail prices, so fans will be getting a big break if they’re looking to get decked-out in their team’s colours to show their support.

Goodwill employee Kelsey Wood is hoping to pick up a Jarome Iginla jersey as he’s her all-time favourite player.

The “All-Star Donation Drive” runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Chinook Goodwill store.

Several sports stars will be on hand, including former Calgary Flames forward Perry Berezan and Olympic gold medal curler John Morris.
