UPDATE: Dallon Kyle Johnstone was arrested by police in northeast Calgary on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015.
CALGARY – Police have issued an Alberta-wide warrant for a 28-year-old man wanted for fraud.
The charges stem from an investigation launched in March, after a woman contacted police to report a faulty cheque she had been given.
Investigators say a man convinced the woman to give him cash in exchange for a cheque allegedly worth $550. Shortly after, the woman was contacted by her bank who informed her that the cheque bounced due to insufficient funds.
“The woman was unable to locate the man and has not seen or heard from him since,” said police in a Tuesday news release.
Since then, officers have received a number of allegations from women who say they were solicited for money by a man they met through online dating websites.
Dallon Kyle Johnstone, who may also go by the name of Kyle Zirelli, is wanted on an Alberta-wide warrant for fraud under $5,000.
Police describe him as about 6’ tall, 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo on his right forearm that says “West 2012.”
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact police or call Crime Stoppers.
