One of the teams running was supporting Carla Zarifeh, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in December. They raised over $15,000.

“I did explain the whole thing to my daughter, she knows what went on,” said Zarifeh.

“She asked me, ‘Mom, am I going to have a bump on my breast that’s going to be bad?’ I said I hope not, but I’m hoping by then they’ll have raised them oney and have research to hopefully find a cure, so you don’t have to go through what I went through.”
