WINNIPEG — As we say goodbye to September we can look back on what was a pretty glorious start to the fall season.
Temperatures were seasonal or above for the better part of the month.
While daytime highs in September should be around the 16 degrees Celsius mark, we saw not one but four days where the mercury rose to 30C or higher.
That’s a far cry from where the average temperature for the month of September between 1981-2010 was 12.7C.
You may recall September started off HOT!

We did happen to see frost overnight a few days earlier than we did in 2014, but some areas in Winnipeg avoided it entirely.
September was also fairly dry. The big storm that rolled through on the 4th dropped just over 38 millimetres at the airport while the west perimeter saw more than 68 mm in just one hour. After that, we were pretty much rain-free in Winnipeg.
October has started out not too shabby either with temperatures still above normal headed into the weekend.
