KELOWNA – In separate child related sex crime cases at the Kelowna law courts, two central Okanagan men have received the same jail sentences for different offenses.
When RCMP executed a search warrant at the West Kelowna home of Scott Wade Nykolaishen in July 2014, they say about 120 child pornography images were found on a computer.
Nykolaishen has pleaded guilty to possessing the illegal photographs and was handed a 90 day intermittent jail sentence and 12 months probation. He was also ordered to submit a DNA sample.

And in a warrant application police filed to search the Lake Country home of Cory Samuel Brosnikoff, an officer said she pretended to be a 14-year-old girl in internet communications with a man who said he liked the idea of meeting a “hot young cutie and having fun.”
“A user who identified himself as Jeff (33 years of age) engaged in sexual communication with me and suggested that if we met, he would like to teach me how to engage in sexual activities with him,” said the officer.
Brosnikoff was convicted of communicating via computer to lure a child under 16.
He was also sentenced to 90 days jail to be served intermittently and must also give a DNA sample.
Brosnikoff is also prohibited for two years from attending public parks, swimming areas and school or play grounds where children under 14 can reasonably be expected to be present.
