An African Serval cat is missing from the Langley / Aldergrove area of the Lower Mainland and its owners are desperate to get him back.

‘Tigger’ is only one-year-old, and his owner, Kelly Allen, said he somehow got out during the thunder and hail storm on March 15th.

She said he is neutered and declawed, and is not dangerous, but will be very scared. He may also hiss at anyone he doesn’t know and look fierce because he also weighs about 35 pounds.

Allen has raided Tigger from a six-week-old cub, and he even has his own Facebook page.

“He is loved like one of our children,” said Allen. “We take him everywhere,” she added. “He’s even been all over the states.”

She added that he has been raised around horses, dogs and another cats.

From her best guess, Allen thinks Tigger may have headed east from her home on 40th Street in Langley as he would have been running from the Thunder.

She asks that if anyone sees Tigger to call her at 604-831-1519 or Ron at 604-837-0593. You may be able to coax him with some food, but she stressed to be careful as he will be very scared.

Tigger is also wearing an orange sapphire crystal collar with his name and his owners’ phone numbers.

Allen said she is aware about the controversy surrounding owning one of these cats. They are native to Africa and require a lot of work to socialize.

“No I don’t think everyone should own one,” she said. “They have to be socialized. This cat has been handled and socialized like you wouldn’t believe.”
