Montreal police investigate city’s 19th homicide

MONTREAL – A 25-year-old man is dead after he was shot early Sunday morning in Montreal North

At 1:45 a.m. officers responding to a 911 call found the victim sitting in a car on Lacordaire Boulevard with a gunshot wound.

Officers pulled the man from the car, and tried to resuscitate him. He was transported to hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced dead.

Montreal spokesperson Andre Leclerc told Global News that the victim was known to police.

Investigators with the major crimes unit have established a perimeter around the crime scene and are canvassing the neighbourhood.

Lacordaire Boulevard remains closed to traffic between des Tulipes  Street and Renoir Street.

It is the city’s 19th homicide of 2015.
