RCMP are called to a home in Millet after Curtis McConnell discovered the bodies of his two sons in home. According to a neighbour, the bodies were found in the bathroom of the house.
“I ran up into the bathroom, turned on the light, pulled the kids out of the bathtub. They were laying on the floor, I’ll never get that image out of my mind,” the neighbour told Global News.

Police confirm a car found in a parking lot in Edmonton is connected to the boys’ deaths but did not release any details. It would later become known the car was Allyson McConnell’s, the boys’ mother, who just hours after the discovery of the bodies, tried to kill herself by jumping off a bridge. Neighbours report the couple had been separated and Allyson wanted to return to her home country of Australia.

Curtis McConnell, the father of Jayden and Connor, testified he was called by police that his wife had fallen off a bridge. He rushed home and found the children floating in the bathtub.
“I just dropped to my knees,” McConnell told the court, “I reached into the water. The water is cold, I could feel something in there. They were so cold and stiff. I have to pull them out. She just left them there to rot.”

Neighbours testify Allyson McConnell was showing signs of depression and had started giving away clothes, a carseat and a camera.
“She appeared mad at times,” Tracy Malloy told the court, adding the divorce between Allyson and Curtis McConnell seemed to be weighing heavily on her, “She seemed depressed about it for sure. Bitter at times.”
“She was not allowed to leave Millet,” Marless Litzenberger testified, “It seemed to me she felt very trapped there.”
