SASKATOON – A Saskatoon police dog had to put the bite on a suspect early Friday morning. The driver of a vehicle was brought down by Kato after attempting to flee on foot from officers.

It started when a patrol sergeant spotted a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed down Pendygrasse Road around 2:30 a.m. The sergeant followed the vehicle to the 100-block of Olmstead Road where a traffic stop was made.

The driver refused to listen to the officer and ran from the vehicle.

He was arrested, but not before suffering what police officials call “injuries consistent with dog bites.”
