Charges pending after 15-year-old boy killed in Saskatoon shooting

UPDATE: Teen facing 10 charges in Saskatoon shooting death

SASKATOON – Charges are pending against a 14-year-old boy after a fatal shooting in Saskatoon on the Labour Day long weekend. The suspicious death was reported in the Pleasant Hill neighbourhood on Monday.

Officers were called to a house in the 300-block of Avenue Q South at around 6:45 p.m. A 15-year-old boy was found dead at the scene.

Police originally said the victim was 16.

An autopsy performed Wednesday determined the victim died as a result of a gunshot wound. His name has not been released.

Investigators have interviewed the 14-year-old suspect. Police say they are consulting with Crown prosecutors to determine the type of charge or charges to be laid.
