Jeanette Hoft, who will be competing in the Sprint race and the Aquathlon feels lucky to have such a great training ground at home. “We are privileged to train on the many routes within agricultural areas and along Okanagan lake, with far less vehicle congestion than in other cities,” says Hoft.

For Hughes, the only Kelowna athlete racing in the Standard distance category, this will be his first time at the ITU Triathlon World Championships. His family is very excited to be traveling with him to the event. “Our granddaughters are really proud of Stu and they’ll be there to cheer on their granddad,” said his wife Diana.
