Police say a 15-year-old freshman at a high school in California repeatedly punched a substitute teacher after being asked to put her cell phone away.
The attack happened Friday at Roosevelt High School in Fresno.
“The suspect student plugged in her cell phone to charge it. He ended up taking it,” Fresno Police Department‘s Lt. Joe Gomez explained to KGPE. “The teacher took it away, up to the front of the class. In the video you can see her going up there [and] immediately attacks him.”
Cell phone footage captured by another student, and posted to social media, shows the teacher being hit repeatedly.
The student has been charged with a felony count of assault and two misdemeanor counts. She also faces possible punishment at the school.
