Spokeswoman Const. Isabelle Beaulieu said RCMP received an emergency call around 10:15 p.m AT.

A 22-year-old woman was trying to cross the westbound lane on Route 2 when the collision occurred. Paramedics rushed her to the Moncton Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

“The collision occurred while people were exiting the concert that had just occurred on Magnetic Hill,” Const. Beaulieu said, adding no others reported serious injuries.

While no official ticket sales numbers have been released some estimated 40,000 people attended the show.

There was a heavy police presence outside the venue Sunday.

But Soucy said walking back to her campsite was still chaotic.

“It was uncontrolled chaos it was so many thousands of people it was crazy,” she said.

RCMP say they are continuing to investigate the incident.
