Calgary Flames co-sponsor Lethbridge College golf tournament

LETHBRIDGE – Southern Alberta’s longest-running charity golf event has gained even more prestige this year with co-sponsorship from the Calgary Flames organization.

The sponsorship includes a cash donation, a chance to meet Flames alumni, and a live auction for registration for the Flames Foundation Golf Tournament.

One recognizable member of the Flames organization was Jim “Bearcat” Murray, the charismatic trainer who was with the team for their 1989 Stanley Cup championship and is now a community ambassador for the Flames. Murray was auctioned off as a celebrity team member to the tune of $3,000.

“For us to get out and do this and be able to help supply and raise money for [Kodiaks athletics], it is a great benefit for us because we really love it,” said Murray.
