Multiple shooters involved in dispute that injured man in downtown Edmonton

EDMONTON – The Edmonton Police Service is investigating a downtown shooting that happened just before 3 a.m. Saturday.

Officers say multiple shooters were involved in a dispute that lead to gunshots on Jasper Avenue and 108 Street. Several bullet casings were found on the street about a block away, near 101 Avenue and 108 Street.

One man, a 32-year-old, was found suffering gunshot wounds nearby, at 107 Street and Jasper Avenue. He was treated at the scene and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The man is known to police and the shooting is not a random incident, officers say.

The area was blocked off while police investigated Saturday morning.
