A small section near the CN Tower have been cordoned off as large chunks of ice have fallen from the structure, hitting at least one car underneath.
Other reports of falling ice were also seen near the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in the Front St. W. and John St. area, just before the noon hour.
Heavy winds were blowing large pieces of ice from the tower, according to Toronto police Const. Tony Vella.
Building engineers were consulted and they say everything is safe.
Global News meteorologist Anthony Farnell also tweeted about the ice from his downtown condo:

So far no injuries have been reported.
Police say roads in that area remain open and no closures are scheduled.
