Calgary Tower presents special light shows for GlobalFest

The 191 metre Calgary Tower was built in 1967 as a Canadian centennial project. A glass floor installed in 2005 offers a birds‐eye view of the streets below and coloured exterior LED lights were introduced in 2014. Calgarytower.com

CALGARY – The Calgary Tower will feature a series of specially-themed light shows for the next week.

The exterior LED lights on the tower will change colour each day to celebrate a different nation taking part in GlobalFest, the city’s international fireworks festival.

The shows will take place as follows:

  • Saturday, August 22 – China
  • Sunday, August 23 – Philippines
  • Tuesday, August 25 – Spain
  • Thursday, August 27 – USA
  • Saturday, August 29 – Finale (Canada)

The Calgary Tower features daily light shows from 5 a.m. to sunrise and dusk until midnight, as well as many themed shows for days of awareness and special events.
