TORONTO — If you’re a Toronto Blue Jays fan you may have seen or heard one of the most enthusiastic ushers in the Rogers Centre.
Way up on level 500, Renee Shaw’s job is to show patrons to their seats and pump up the crowd before the game. A job she takes very seriously.
“I want people to come here and enjoy every minute like I do,” said Shaw.
On any given game day, if Shaw isn’t busy inspecting the seats to make sure they’re up to her standards, she’s greeting fans with a cheer, a high five, or one of her energetic dance routines.

“I’m known as the dancing queen,” she said.
“Once you are on your feet and you are dancing there’s a Renee in you.”
Shaw is a natural ball of energy. No energy drinks, no coffee, just a love for her job and a zest for life.
The key to succeeding in her job, she says, is just being herself.
The single mother of two has been an usher at the Rogers Centre for the past eight years.
It’s her dream job and her work ethic and warmth shows it.
For every fan who enters her section, she considers them a personal guest.
“This is basically my home,” said Shaw.
“Welcome to my home have a seat and enjoy the game.”
She adds a personal touch to her job that fans notice.
One tweeted about her a few weeks ago saying, “We have the best usher … Renee ur awesome.”
For Shaw, that’s humbling.
“It’s amazing to know now that people are noticing what I’m doing,” she said. “I love getting into the game, into the atmosphere.”
It’s an atmosphere Shaw hopes to work in for many years to come.
“I come in here everyday, all day, all 81 games and show what I’m good at, which is being me.”
