Federal Election 2015: Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound riding results

Real time live results available on Monday, October 19 2015 after polls close. Overall results will be available here.

Summary: Conservative MP Larry Miller is seeking a fifth term in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, one of many southern Ontario rural ridings that went to the Conservatives by a large margin in 2011.

Last Election: Miller defeated NDP candidate Karen Gventer by 38.7 per cent, his highest margin of victory in four elections.

History: Miller has held the riding since 2004. Prior to that, the riding had alternated through the years, with the Liberal Party taking it from 1993 to 2004 (under Ovid Jackson) and 1968 to 1979, and the Progressive Conservatives holding it between 1979 and 1993, and 1953 to 1968.

Demographics: 21 per cent of people were seniors here in 2011, the third highest percentage in Ontario. Just 0.2 per cent of the population were people who immigrated in the five years prior to the 2011 census, the third lowest figure in the province.
