Lee’s father provided the inspiration for fictional attorney Atticus Finch in both “Mockingbird” and Lee’s recently released “Go Set a Watchman.”

A town historian says Lee would have had the old building in mind when she wrote about a key scene in “Watchman” that occurs in Atticus’ law office.
The 6,000-square-foot (557-square-meter) building has been vacant for years and needs repairs, but it’s in a prominent spot on the courthouse square.
Officials hope the hoopla over Lee’s new release helps lure interested buyers.
