Level three drought conditions are in effect for both the Middle Fraser and Kootenay Columbia regions due to continued warm and dry weather.
The conditions call for voluntary water-use reductions from all municipal, agricultural and industrial users.
Ministry staff are monitoring the river levels and ecosystems and may upgrade the drought level if the weather continues to have a negative impact on stream flows and water supply.
Water users are also being encouraged to watch out that their water intakes to prevent fish from being pulled into water systems as the levels drop.
