Two men seriously injured in southern Alberta rollover

CALGARY – Two men in their 40s were seriously injured in a rollover on Highway 2 on Wednesday.

The incident happened just southeast of the hamlet of Cayley, near the intersection with 674 Avenue East, around 1:30 a.m.

When they arrived, paramedics found a significantly damaged pickup truck with two people inside.

One patient was taken to the Foothills Medical Centre by STARS Air Ambulance in serious, potentially life-threatening condition.

The other patient was taken to the same hospital in serious but stable and non-life-threatening condition.

Both victims suffered soft-tissue injuries.

It’s unknown if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash, or if the patients had been wearing seatbelts.

Cayley is located about 130 kilometres northwest of Lethbridge.
