Two people were taken to hospital after a SeaDoo collided with a boat on Osoyoos Lake Tuesday. RCMP release

OSOYOOS – Two people were rushed to hospital by air ambulance after a SeaDoo collided with a boat on Osoyoos Lake Tuesday afternoon. RCMP say members of the same Delta, B.C. family were on both vessels at the time of the crash.

According to police, the SeaDoo was being driven by a 17-year-old girl when it hit the boat. The boat was not moving at the time of the crash. RCMP say the impact launched the SeaDoo “on top of the passenger area of the boat.”

The teen and her aunt, who was also on the SeaDoo at the time of the crash, were both flown to Kelowna General Hospital by air ambulance. The teen has since been released from hospital. Her aunt is still being treated. Police say she was originally “admitted with serious but non-life-threatening facial injuries.”

No one on the boat was hurt.
