WATCH: Angry man goes on joy ride in front of Florida jail

TORONTO – While it’s never a good idea to go joy riding on anyone’s front lawn, it’s an especially bad idea when said lawn is in front of a local jail.

But that’s exactly what one man decided to do after being told to move his car, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

Police say Michael Lee Roberts, 31, was asked multiple times to move his SUV from the sidewalk directly in front of the Hernando County Detention Center in Florida.

After repeatedly refusing the request, Roberts decided to “comply”: by slamming his car into reverse, striking a nearby park bench.

He then drove onto the jail’s front lawn, doing donuts on the grass before striking a flagpole.

At that point, police stopped asking and forcibly pulled him from his vehicle.

He faces charges of criminal mischief and two counts of resisting an officer without violence.
