THURSO, QUE. – A 25-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault after his two-month-old baby girl was found unconscious in their home.
Police said the child was showing signs of from Shaken baby syndrome (SBS).
The Surêté du Quebec was called to a home at 382 Edwards crescent Wednesday afternoon.
The baby was taken to a Buckingham, Que. hospital before being transferred to one in Ottawa.
She remains in critical condition.
The man was charged in Gatineau court and will remain behind bars until the case resumes Monday.
