Two pedestrians struck in separate crashes in Toronto

TORONTO – A man and a woman are in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by vehicles in two separate crashes in Toronto overnight and early Wednesday morning.

A woman was taken to hospital after she was hit by a SUV Tuesday night while crossing an intersection near the Lawrence Park neighbourhood of Toronto.

Meanwhile, a man in his 30s was rushed to hospital after he was struck around 4 a.m. by a car near Eglinton and Marlee.

The vehicle then crashed into a laneway between two low-rise apartment buildings.

The driver left the scene but returned a short time later and was arrested by police.

There’s no word yet on any charges for both drivers.
