EDMONTON — A motorcyclist was taken to hospital after a hit-and-run collision in north Edmonton Monday night.
The crash happened around 11 p.m. in the area of 167 Avenue and 91 Street.
Police say the rider, a 21-year-old man, was heading north on 91 Street when the driver of a white, GMC truck turned left in front of the motorcycle. The rider suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck drove away from the scene but was followed and eventually cornered by witnesses. Officers say he drove over lawns in an attempt to escape and stopped in the area of 171 Avenue and 91 Street.
According to police, two men – the driver and a passenger – took off on foot and a female passenger then took the wheel and drove through the Klarvatten neighbourhood.
The truck was eventually left near 167 Avenue and 88 Street. Police found the woman and arrested her.
The two men have been identified but not arrested.
