TORONTO – HGTV Canada superstar Mike Holmes is launching a new competition series this summer that will see one couple win their dream house.
Home Free pits nine couples against each other as they renovate eight houses over the course of eight weeks. The homes they renovate go to families in need.

Each week the do-it-yourself couples are tasked with construction and design challenges. Holmes then ranks the quality of their work and the couple that doesn’t meet his high standards is eliminated from the show.
“From well-deserved victories to heartbreaking eliminations, each week packs a powerful story,” said Christine Shipton, Senior Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, Shaw Media in a press release.
The “twist” in the show is that the couples all have to live together in the houses they are working on and that the houses get bigger and more challenging as couples are eliminated each week. The last couple standing walks away with their “ultimate dream home.”
