MACGREGOR, Man. – A cyclist from Quebec who was pedalling from Vancouver to Montreal has been killed in a collision with a semi-trailer truck in Manitoba.
RCMP say the 54-year-old man was travelling with another cyclist when the accident happened Wednesday morning on the Trans-Canada Highway near MacGregor, about 125 kilometres west of Winnipeg.

The rider, whose name has not been released, died at the scene.
Police say both people were wearing helmets.

They also say that alcohol is not considered a factor in the collision.
