HALIFAX, NS – People hoping to take in a different view of the Northwest Arm are going to disappointed to find the Memorial (Dingle) Tower in Sir Sanford Fleming Park is closed until further notice.
In a release sent out on Thursday, the city of Halifax said that the tower was struck by vandals earlier in the week, and now municipal officials believe the structure is unsafe for the public.

The biggest issue is a safety screen at the top of the tower that has been kicked out, meaning it`s possible for visitors to access parts of the tower that are unsafe.

A sign notifying visitors of the closure of the tower will be placed at the entrance.
