Stolen handguns recovered, 3 Calgarians charged in drug bust

CALGARY –  A drug trafficking investigation has resulted in police recovering two stolen handguns and charging three Calgarians with guns and drugs charges.

Twenty-two-year-old Jeffery McDonald, 19-year-old Michael Oria and 21-year-old Ashleigh Aguilar have been arrested and charged with a combined 29 charges.

Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) Calgary seized the handguns on June 18 after searching a downtown apartment and an Erin Woods home.

In addition to the guns, an estimated $30,000 worth of cocaine and pills were seized, including:

  • Smith and Wesson M&P9 handgun;
  • Colt Gold Cup Trophy .45 handgun;
  • 179 rounds of ammunition;
  • 251 grams of cocaine;
  • 51 percocet pills;
  • 246 grams of marihuana;
  • $7,595 cash proceeds of crime.

The handguns will undergo forensic analysis to determine if they were used in any other crimes, say police.
