TORONTO — Tyler Posey is ready to make a commitment — to have some of his body art removed.
The 23-year-old actor is undergoing laser treatments to have a large tattoo depicting the comedy/drama masks taken off the left ribcage.
“It’s quite a painful process,” Posey said Wednesday on Global’s The Morning Show.
Posey has no intention of getting rid of the ink that decorates his right leg and left arm. In fact, he plans to add more.
“Absolutely,” he said. “I’ve got a vision and I’m taking my time.”
“We just don’t show my legs on the show.”
The show, of course, is Teen Wolf, which starts its fifth season on June 29. Based very loosely on the 1985 movie of the same name starring Canada’s Michael J. Fox, Posey plays a social outcast who gets bitten by a werewolf.
He said things get really intense this year. “It’s probably our darkest and goriest season,” said Posey, “but we do a really good job of balancing it out with comedy and romance.”
Speaking of romance, Posey recalled a childhood fling with Miley Cyrus. The two spent several years in Toronto while he worked on the series Doc with Cyrus’ dad, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus.
“Miley and I were the only kids. We didn’t know anybody else. We were on set the entire day,” he recalled of the series, which ran from 2001 to 2004. “We befriended each other … and became boyfriend and girlfriend.”
Posey said the two “keep in touch.”
It’s one of many happy memories Posey has of Canada’s largest city.
“This is by far my favourite city in the world,” he said, “and I have the best memories I’ve ever had in my life here.”
