Residents across B.C. were treated to a show on Monday evening.

The Northern Lights were visible in many parts of the province and we have compiled a selection below.

Northern lights, called aurora borealis, occur when particles released in a coronal mass ejection interact with Earth’s magnetic field.

They are often only visible in the far north, but if the auroral oval tips south, the particles travel and allow the northern lights to be visible further south.
