Rice crackers may contain eggs, CFIA warns allergic Canadians

 TORONTO – Public health officials in Ottawa are warning Canadians who have egg allergies to stay away from rice crackers that may contain the ingredient.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said Tuesday that Bin Bin brand Rice Crackers may contain eggs, which is not declared on the label.

These products have been distributed nationally as Bin Bin brand Snow Rice Crackers, in 150 gram and 450 gram bags.

There has been one reported allergic reaction linked to the product.

Authorities say that Canadians with egg allergies who consume these crackers could face serious of life-threatening injuries.

The CFIA is working with Canadian importers to remove the affected products from the store shelves.

Eggs are one of the nine most common food allergies, the federal agency says.
