EDMONTON — A driver has been charged in connection with a February collision that left two people dead and sent two others to hospital with serious injuries.

On February 18, a taxi minivan and a small pick-up truck collided on Sparrow Drive, just south of Airport Road, just after 1:30 a.m.

Police said it was difficult to tell exactly what happened when they arrived on scene because of how devastating the crash was.

Two men in the taxi died at the scene.

The driver of the taxi was taken to an Edmonton hospital with critical injuries. Another man who was inside the taxi was taken to hospital in stable condition after being ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
