WATCH: 5 Seconds of Summer guitarist catches fire during concert

TORONTO — The guitarist for pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer was injured Saturday after being hit with pyrotechnics during a concert in London.

Fans witnessed Michael Clifford’s hair catch fire as the left side of his head was blasted by flames during a performance at Wembley Stadium.

The Australian band was forced to cut the concert short so the 19-year-old musician could receive medical attention.

“Sorry I couldn’t finish the encore,” Clifford tweeted later. “Thanks for worrying every1.”

On Instagram, he shared a photo of his bandaged head but assured fans he is “doing ok.”

On Sunday, Clifford tweeted that he was looking forward to the band’s third and final night at Wembley.

Late Sunday, Clifford was spotted exiting a London nightclub after performing the band’s second show at Wembley. The only visible injury was a red spot next to his left eye.

Among the fans and friends tweeting their support were One Direction’s Niall Horan and actress Abigail Breslin.

5 Seconds of Summer is scheduled to perform next month in Vancouver, Edmonton and Winnipeg, followed by an Aug. 25 concert in Toronto.
