Fishing outing turns into tragedy on Saskatchewan lake

SPIRITWOOD, Sask. – A Saskatchewan fishing outing has turned into tragedy. A man drowned Wednesday after he fell out of a boat on Deserter Lake.

The 78-year-old man was fishing on the lake with a friend when he fell out of the boat, causing it to capsize.

His friend managed to swim to shore and call for help.

Local residents and RCMP searched the lake where they recovered his body. His name has not been released.
