Manslaughter charge laid in suspicious death on Sask. First Nation

NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask. – A man has been charged with manslaughter after a missing man was found dead on a Saskatchewan First Nation. Brett Frenchman, 23, was reported missing by family on May 29.

His body was discovered the following day on the Moosomin First Nation following a search by family and members of the community. Mounties called his death suspicious.

An autopsy was held Monday in Saskatoon. The results have not been released.

Police have now charged Jeremy Gamble, 27, with manslaughter.

Gamble, of no fixed address, made his first court appearance Tuesday in North Battleford provincial court.

Mounties said they are not looking for any additional suspects in Frenchman’s death.
