More than 5,000 people registered to take part in “the world’s biggest blind date.”
1,200 lucky singles arrived at Ed Mirvish Theatre on Wednesday to meet their match, as pre-determined by a short questionnaire applicants completed. The questions were simple: gender, orientation, age, and their favourite stage musical. The matches were made using a computer program.
The love-seekers attended a performance of the Tony Award-winning musical, Once, where they were introduced to their match before the show.
The love match extravaganza was kicked off by Mirvish Productions seeking participants for a “social experiment.”
No word yet on how many love connections were made.
