WINNIPEG — A new development is expected to double the current population of Stonewall in the next 15-20 years. The town said it reached an agreement with Ventura Land Company Inc. shortly before a deadline on Monday.

“A lot of public reserve space, there’s going to be some affordable housing, some multi-use condos and apartments and a mix of 50 to 60 ft lots,” Mayor Lockie MacLean said.

The Quarry Ridge Park Development will add around 600 new homes to the southwest area of Stonewall. Ventura is expected to spend about 30 million dollars developing the site.

“We’ll look to start the underground servicing works sometime in early 2016,” Tim Comack at Ventura Land Company said.

Ventura said it expects to begin pre-selling lots this summer.
