EDMONTON — The RCMP has charged a 28-year-old from B.C. and a 29-year-old Ontario resident with first degree murder and attempted murder in connection with a fiery December homicide.
Shane Terry Tym, 28, of Chilliwack, B.C., and Sarah Jane Posthumus, 29, of Tara, Ontario are charged with murdering Adrian Gregory of Ottawa, Ontario, and attempting to murder Jeremy Pershaw.
Police say the two victims were shot and a vehicle related to the crime then set on fire on Dec. 30, 2014, in an industrial park off 34 Street in Strathcona County.

The RCMP were initially called regarding a vehicle fire in that industrial park at about 12:45 a.m.
Emergency crews were called to the area of Baseline Line and Sherwood Park Freeway, near 34 Street, where they found a Jeep on fire.
Gregory was found dead. Pershaw was taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries. Police said both individuals were occupants of the Jeep.

Investigators said the shooting was not random.
Police arrested and charged Posthumus on March 17 in Port Elgin, Ont. Tym was arrested in Chilliwack, B.C. on May 29.
Posthumus has been released on bail in Ontario, and a court date will be scheduled in Strathcona County.
Tym is being held in custody in B.C. and will be returned to Alberta on June 3 where he will make a bail appearance and when a formal court date will be set. RCMP aren’t looking for any other suspects.
