REGINA – April marked another busy month for Saskatchewan Border Service Agents, who found child pornography on one man and stopped an American from bringing undeclared firearms into the country.
On April 2nd CBSA officers did a search on a commercial driver from Texas. While searching his laptop they uncovered multiple images of suspected child pornography and turned over the evidence to Saskatchewan’s ICE unit.
ICE charged 40-year-old Andrew Benito Ferrer with Possession and Importation of Child Pornography.

On April 22nd Border Agents sent a 27-year-old Alaska man for further evaluation and found a dismantled, restricted AR-15 rifle on a flatbed trailer.
The Officers used a baggage x-ray system to locate the firearm pieces – the various parts plus three over-capacity magazines were wrapped in clothes stored in a plastic tote. Charges are pending.
During the month of April CBSA agents also turned away three other people at the border for prior charges back home in America.
