SASKATOON – The Saskatoon Police Service announced Tuesday one of its members has been charged with common assault following an incident last week. Staff Sgt. Darcy Shukin has made his first appearance in provincial court.
Warman RCMP were called to a report of domestic violence on May 4 at a residence in the rural municipality of Vanscoy. The 43-year-old man was arrested at the scene.
Shukin will remain in his current administrative role pending the outcome of court proceedings, according to the police service.
An internal investigation will look into this incident.
Shukin has been a member of Saskatoon police for 23 years.
