You’re not a ‘foodie,’ says OQLF, you’re a ‘cuisinomane’

MONTREAL – The Office Québécois de la Langue Française (OQLF) is adding the word “cuisinomane” to the dictionary in its continued efforts to cut out English words from the Quebecois vocabulary.

The organization insisted the word was created because it says many Quebecers were looking for a French alternative to “foodie.”

Social media, however, hasn’t been so kind to the OQLF’s attempts.
