Man being sentenced today after plane fatality

He is calling it a lapse in judgment and a tragic mistake. 

Today in a Regina court room, Parker Butterfield is expected to be sentenced after pleading guilty to dangerous operation of an aircraft causing death.

The charges date back to May when Butterfield misjudged the wind and his wing hit another pilot, William Bleach. Bleach died of his injuries days later. 

The crown is asking for 12 to 18 months while the defense wants a suspended sentence with probation.
