Alberta Election 2015: NDP’s Maria Fitzpatrick wins Lethbridge-East

The NDP’s Maria Fitzpatrick has won the riding of Lethbridge-East.

Fitzpatrick won with 45 per cent of the vote. PC candidate Tammy Perlich came in second with 27 per cent.

The Lethbridge-East riding was Conservative until 1993 when Liberal candidate Ken Nicol was elected. After serving three terms he jumped to federal politics.

Bridget Pastoor was elected as a Liberal in 2004. She crossed the floor to join the Conservatives in November 2011.

Pastoor won as a PC in 2012, but did not run in this election.
